My Baby Is 10 Months Old Today

It's June 29 and baby A is 10 months old.  Where did the time go?

Viva Costa Rica

If you aren't living under a rock or shuffling in outer space, then most likely you've heard something about the world cup, the biggest event in soccer.... the soccer olympics, of sorts, that comes around just once every 4 years.  I, for one, am not much of a soccer fan myself but it is hard to not hear, read or see what is going on now with all the competing countries vying for their chance THE world cup.  And if you have access to internet or television or newspaper or radio, then you've heard about Costa Rica, who just made history today by making it to the 2nd qualifying round of the FIFA world cup, becoming one of the best 8 competing teams in the world.  The first Central American country to do so.... way to go Costa Rica.

If you want to see how people celebrate a historical victory over a European giant, then come to Costa Rica.  Today is INSANE.  Ticos of all ages are 'loco', out of their minds with emotion and happiness, it would bring tears of joy to anyone's eyes.  The excitement in the air is so invigorating; not sure how people will go to bed tonight, as in true Tico style, the celebration will most likely continue until the wee hours of the morning.

The game was a true heart-wrencher, with Costa Rica and Greece tied at 1-1, having to go to penalty kicks to decide the ultimate winner, the country that would qualify on to the next round.  Out of the 16 teams left, only 8 would advance on to the next round, with each country getting just one chance to prove their might.

As a small country, with far less 'talent' than most of the European and bigger latin juganauts, Costa Rica was not expected to advance past the first round.  They weren't even expected to win their first game against Uruguay.  But not only did they blow their first competition out of the water, they went on to not only beat Italy but eliminated England as well.  Costa Rica came out on top over 3 former world cup champion countries, proving to the world that small countries can have big talent.  Their surprise victories got the world talking, as everyone started to take notice of "the little country that could".

For the first time since 1996 (I think, but don't quote me), Costa Rica had made it past the first round in the World Cup.  It was a HUGE deal.  But if anyone was thinking that Costa Rica just got lucky, well todays game proved that theory wrong.  Up against Greece, with one less player, Costa Rica proved again to the world that it's talent, not luck, that got them to where they are.  They are scheduled to play Holand next and as a non-soccer fan, I hope Costa Rica kicks ASS.

Dude, Where's My Blog...????

Yeah this sporadic posting is not doing me any favors when it comes to stretching my writing muscles at all.  I miss blogging and posting pics but like I mentioned previously, I am electronically disabled at the moment.  However, it looks like things might be looking up and might change pretty soon.... I might be able to post more frequently now since hubby got a power cord for his Mac, which I am am assuming I will be able to use on occasion; more frequently than before when I was just using his work Ipad.

Anywho, what's new?  Lots.  The baby is nine and a half months old, fast approaching his 1 year birthday, so I have been heavy into planning that event (as you know I am a party planning freak).  I have also gotten my Youtube channel up and running and have over 40 videos posted so far (already, I know).  I am loving documenting my life and little things we do.  It's fun.  So now I have a blog and a vlog, hehehehe.  I will need to start blogging more often again though so I can link my vlog channel on the tube to my blog posts here and vice versa. But all is well.

I have a few vids I wanna post about my party planning adventures, since I have not posted any pics on here in a while (that will change very soon though, I am hoping).  I have pics of Princess' 7th birthday to post and a few of my P's 14th b-day paintball fun.  Those pics will be coming soon......

So, on to more recent happenings... today is Father's day.  And it is just another day in the SC household.  Not much going on that I know of (maybe hubby has plans, not sure, but as I write we have no plans).  We did get him a few little goodies for the day though.  The kids made him a couple of cards at school, which are always cute.  Princess got him a little 'sumthin, sumthin', though I am not sure what.  She brought it home from school all wrapped up (no peeking).

JC brought home a card too, which is super cute with all his little stick people that have no bodies, just arms, legs and a head LOL.  He also was supposed to bring home a chocolate lollipop for his dad, but he promptly ate it (no worries, I went and got a replacement chocolate bar to go with the card).  And not to be left out, Baby A made a card as well (well, mommy helped.... A LOT).

We (meaning moi) also got hubby a knew brace for his workouts (he runs and is about to start mai Tai martial arts classes).  And yesterday I went to a Father's Day celebration at my mother in law's church and I won two raffle prizes for dad, so hubby will get those too from the kiddos (some socks and a cologne).  I won a prize too for my, ahem, karaoke singing... not to brag, since that has nothing at all to do with Father's Day :)

I wanna post pics of the day, but it's not really anything exciting so if I film anything and post it to the vlog, I will link the video here.  So exciting the things that are happening in my life right now.  I won't go on and on here in this post as it will get too "wordy", but more posts coming soon.
