Going Bowling For His 12th Birthday

After much thought, and having few options, my son decided that he wanted to go bowling to celebrate his 12th birthday. Although it was a super simple celebration, my son had the best time on his birthday.

We went to the bowling alley as a family and had an hour long session of knocking down pins. We even got a few strikes. After pizza, some fast food and a few drinks we headed home to finish up his birthday funday celebration with cake and a few more presents.

It was the most unforgettable day as he got everything he asked for, which made him emotional and over the moon happy. And as a mom, it was everything I could ask for. My kid happy as a clam on his birthday is worth so much.

I look forward to doing it all again next year.

The Perfect Ninja Birthday Party

Like I mentioned before, planning a party during quarantine isn't easy. You have to pare down your guest list substantially for starters as social distancing measures are still in place. But luckily that was really the only  set back for my 7 year olds birthday on August 29th.

While his older two siblings had to settle for simple celebrations at home with very little decor, he actually had a party with a piƱata and a few guests. It wasnt the grandiose party we are used to planning but in a way, it was almost better as it was less stress and more care free. We still had all the standard party fare like cake, balloons and gifts, which is all any kid really needs. It doesn't take much to make kids feel special and happy on their birthdays.

As quarantine is lifted slowly and stores start reopening in phases, there was a lot more to celebrate that August day than just my son's birthday. It was a celebration of the impending normacly of life. We still have a long way to go before everything gets back to normal but celebrating the little things is what makes life fun.

Here are a few photos from my son's ninja themed birthday party. It was a blast!
