Christmas has come and gone, again. But this time, I am not sad or feeling empty. I enjoyed my holiday to the fullest and now look forward to the next chapter.
Our kids had an amazing Christmas and so did we. I could not have asked for a more perfect holiday.
If the holiday was a meal, Christmas Eve was a deliciously delectable appetizer while Christmas Day was a four course five star dinner with all the trimmings.
The day after, we took a trip to visit Santa.
Tis the season they say and since we're experiencing a whole new way of life, I figured I would do all the festive Christmas things, like bake all the yummy treats and goodies and do all the crafty crafts.
What better way to celebrate the season than with home baked cookies. Am I right? It's the one time of year where we get to indulge in everything sweet and chocolatey and why not bake and make a few.
A sticker craft that is minimal effort but loads of fun is a perfect way to spend a festive holiday afternoon.
When the pandemic hit and the whole country went into lockdown, it was decided that not only would schools remain virtual but all school events and activities would be cancelled.
That meant no traditional team building retreats or graduation dances. However, when it came time to decide on what to do about graduation ceremonies, the ministry of education remained undecided until the last moment.
Thankfully, schools were given permission to host graduation ceremonies but with sanitary precaution measures in place. So a solution was found and kids were able to graduate while also staying safe.
Ceremonies were held in time slots by student's last names and classes were divided into sections to allow for a select few to graduate at a time. It wasn't the graduation we have come to expect but it was a ceremony none the less and in these times, we could not have asked for much more. I was just thankful my boys were able to celebrate their special days with a bit of pomp and circumstance.
To celebrate the day even more, the graduate decided on Chuck e Cheese for his special outing and his two siblings came along for the fun.
As for my oldest son, he was finally able to close the chapter on his high school years, finally graduating after a long and sometimes difficult road. I am so proud that he can now look forward to the future. He is now one step closer in achieving his dreams as he sets his sights on college. My boy is university bound and I could not be happier.
Due to restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, quite a few holiday events were cancelled, leaving people scrambling to figure out how to celebrate the season without all the traditional activities and fanfare. In comes the national stadium to save the day with the first ever Christmas lights parade, Paseo De Navidad.
Social distancing being the main concern with many events, this particular activity could be done from the safety of your own car while enjoying the stadium all covered in Christmas decor. It was the perfect family evening all cozied up in the car looking at all the pretty lights.
