I Have A College Student Finally

It's about time I'm able to say that I'm the mom of a college student. It took awhile to get to this point but we are finally here and I could not be any happier.

My oldest is finally in college, finally working towards his future goals and it makes me so proud. As any parent, I just want the best for my kids. I, of course, want a better life for them than what I had. And I am willing to help them in any way I can to make that happen. Paying for college for them is one way to make sure that they at least get started on the right path to a brighter and better future.

On the flip side, I do know that college is not for everyone. But I do believe in some sort of higher education post high school whether that be a trade school, an apprenticeship or some kind of work study program. Any and everything necessary for my children to work towards their goal of a happy and successful life.

So yes, my 20 year old son is finally a college student studying to be a digital animator or the like. Here's to hoping he works hard and his hard work pays off and he can live his dream and achieve his goals in life.

I Am Such A Klutz

Scratching my brand new fridge the very next day it got delivered wasn't enough for me, I had to break the freezer basket as well. I am such a Klutz. Accident prone people always baffled me intil I realized my bad luck with household appliances.

Like I mentioned, I just recently cracked and  broke my freezer drawer basket. While putting away a few frozen grocery items, the package of frozen puff pastry fell right on top of the basket, breaking off a little piece. To say I was upset would be an understatement. I am still not over the scratch I made on the door and now this.

I am currently in the process of trying to replace the entire basket but in the meantime, tape has been my friend.

The amount of things I have broken (the blender glass container) or scratched ( my brand new air fryer...which I had to return due to another issue), I'm starting to feel like a walking accident waiting to happen. It's not just appliances either.

The first month or so after buying our brand new car, I put a huge gash in the front trying to park in the carport. Luckily that got fixed because a few days later hubby got into an accident that left our car unusable.

I think I need to just be more careful, slow down with what I'm doing and take my time. Honestly hoping I can go accident free for the rest of the year.

Two Things Happened

Not much has happpened since the new year, but two very important things did happen that I want documented here in the blog.

First off, my 7 year old lost another tooth. This time it was his top front tooth which made him look toothless, the quintessential look of a grade schooler finally growing up.

Every kids goes through the toothless look with their two front teeth missing and that was a momentous event for me. Being my very last child, I would never again see a kid without their front teeth so I had to mark the occasion. The tooth fairy did not disappoint and left a nice and hefty surprise under my son's pillow.

The other really important occasion I wanted to recognize was hubby's birthday. Hubby's birthday falls right at the beginning of the year, the first week of January.

This time we were not at the beach to mark this special moment in time. However, we still wanted hubby to feel special so we celebrated the day with his favorite food, pizza. The following day, I bought him a cake. It was a simple celebration, if it could even be called that. But hubby was happy to be home with his family so that is all that mattered.

Happy New Year 2021

Everyone had been waiting for the year 2020 to end. Like, hurry up and be over with already was the mindset of just about every human  being on the face of the earth. It was a long year that started off slow and then sped by with rapid speed. By the time Christmas rolled around, it was time to bid adieu to the year of the coronavirus.

In 2021 I personally hope for more of the same. 2020 was not a great year but it was a good year for my family. We flourished financially and got to spend so much more time at home together. There isn't alot I can complain about when it comes to my life so far and so I'm going into the new year with a positive outlook on the future with fond memories of the past.
