Our Last Vacation

Last October, we took a family trip to Manuel Antonio when my sister came to visit.  And it was the last family trip we took to the beach.  Oh how I miss the beach.  Vacations are fun, so here's to hoping this was not our last one.

New Year, New Me??

Almost everyone makes new years resolutions at the start of a new year. Some keep up with the new goals they set for themselves, while others falter and a give up, feeling defeated. For most, the problem with their resolutions come from the fact that they are not sustainable. Making a goal to exercise everyday when you've never done so a day in your life is pretty unrealistic.

For me, I am keeping this year's goals simple. I am not big on resolutions to begin with, so they need to be realistic and attainable. So here is to a new year and a slight improvement on the old me.

The First Birthday

Hubby's birthday is the first we get to celebrate, falling on the 7th day of January, the very first week into a new year. We usually always head to the beach for his birthday to celebrate, but that just wasn't possible this year.

We still tried to make the most of his big day anyway, hoping in our own way, we made him feel special on his birthday.

It was a momentous birthday for him as well. Happy 40th hubby!!!

Hello 2022

Hey there, 2022! Happy new year. Yes, it's January 2022 and life continues on like normal, even in a pandemic. It's been almost 2 years since the world was hit with the Coronavirus and covid continues to rage rampant among us. But we forge on, trying to live our lives as normal as possible and as carefree as we can.

So to ring in the new year, we decided to go back to our basic traditions. Since the kids had about a week off from their academic duties, we took advantage of their little mini vacation, a well needed break from school and did a few fun activities to remind us of our lives before the pandemic.

We were finally able to go to the amusement park, after more than a two year absence. The park had been shut down for almost two years and we missed going there as a family. Our favorite time of year to head to the park is on New Year's eve, so that's what we did.

It was just like I remembered, even if some things had changed, most notable the price. But we had a fun family day out all the same and that is what really mattered.

We didn't want to stop there, since, afterall, the kids were on vacation. So we crammed a few activities in before our big day out at the park.

We watched the new spiderman movie in theaters.

I took my daughter and my 8 year old son roller skating and then to the mall for an unforgettable afternoon.

It has been an enjoyable start to the new year for our family so far. And so, I look forward to 2022 with hope. This will be our year!
