Los Sueños Por Fin

It's the year of making dreams come true,  at least as far as hotels go. First it was Riu, then soon after that it was the super luxurious Marriot Hotel Los Sueños in Playa Herradura, near Jaco.

We just happened to book there last minute after the first hotel we booked last minute rejected our friend's dog for the second night.

It was just meant to be. Los Sueños just happened to have rooms available and it was literally 20 minutes from where we were. After a pretty lengthy check in, the hotel was ours for the taking. With a massive room and super elegant bathroom, I was already impressed. However, after seeing the pool areas and beach access, kids activities and breakfast fit for royalty, I was 100 percent sold. I definitely want to go back.

The first hotel we booked, which was a last minute decision by my husband to get away for a quick weekend escape. The actual hotel itself was fine. The pool was enormous and the staff was nice. The room was also pretty spacious with a large jacuzzi tub in the roomy bathroom but the bed was not as comfortable and the food was not impressive.

This piña colada was actually really good

But after one night, hubby and his friend made the decision to upgrade to Los Sueños Marriot. That turned out to be a great decision.

How elegant does the main lobby look, very regal.
A mock up of the hotel and the surrounding homes and yacht club.

One of the many activities, roasting marshmallows.

Herradura beach
Another kid's club activity, mini golf.

I also need to mention how the food was. As I said, the breakfast buffet was fit for royalty and it was pretty tasty too. There were so many options to choose from including an omelette station and a waffle station with a million different toppings. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The fries at the hotel are also some of the best fries I've had in a very long time. They were amazing.

The staff was really friendly and accommodating, top notch service for sure. The  hotel also offers valet service at no extra charge. Everything about Los Sueños was top-tier. You honestly pay a premium but it shows in the service and the surroundings. One of the best hotels we've stayed at for sure.

Let's Explore The Children's Museum

As Costa Rica returns to some semblance of normalcy, it feels good to venture out and do things we did before the pandemic. One of those things happens to be the Children's Museum.

In the height of the pandemic, when businesses started opening back up, we visited the museum and it was not the same as it had been before covid. The wait line was long and it took us over an hour to get in, even though we had purchased our tickets with a specific time online.

On top of all of that, we had to stay with a museum guide in our designated group. No wandering about allowed.

This time around, things are back to normal and lines were pretty nonexistent. Also, we were able to wander and explore the museum on our own time without a guide. It was awesome.
