It was as it used to be, a house full of thankful guests and a table filled with a delicious and bountiful spread. Thanksgiving was back and in full effect this year. We celebrated the holiday with family and a few of their friends, spending hours chatting, laughing and stuffing our bellies. It was the Thanksgiving of old, the way it should be surrounded by good food and good people. If last year taught us anything, it was the importance of spending time with family and close friends. Too long we've all been too busy to participate in life. We're too busy to attend birthday parties or weddings or even barbecues. Life happens and we let it get in the way of actually living our lives. Yes, we're all busy and yes, we all have more important things to do. But making time to enjoy the little things is what makes life and enjoyable event.

O Christmas Tree...
The time has come to deck the halls and be jolly, the Christmas season is here. It's time to spread all the cheer and sing carols, drink egg nog and eat fruit cake. It is the most wonderful time of the year.

Our Newly Remodeled Kitchen
After we finished building our bathroom and renovating our master bedroom, we realized just how out of place those areas of our house looked in relation to the rest of our home.
Our house was in desperate need of a refresh to bring it up to date, make it more functional and give it a more modern aesthetic. By fixing the ceilings, installing recessed lighting throughout and painting almost every square inch, minus two rooms, our house looks completely different and now fits in with our master bedroom and bathroom more seamlessly.
The biggest change to occur in this refresh was our kitchen. With brand new cabinets, a fresh coat of paint and new lighting, our kitchen looks almost completely different. The best part for me is how functional it is now.

The English Festival
I was invited to partake in my daughter's high school English fest as a spectating parent and what an event it was. Each grade level had a theme, from video games to the Grammys. And each theme was represented by a variety of characters. Each character gave a brief introduction of themselves, including likes, dislikes and favorite pastimes. And it was all done in English. I was really impressed with each character's description of themselves and how well each student did with their presentations. Plus, their understanding and oral capabilities of a second language was really outstanding. I look forward to m any more events like this.
Halloween Fun
It was a rainy, dreary, gloomy day. The kind of day that sets the vibe for spooky tales and frightening fun and it was the perfect day to trick or treat at the mall. Trick or treating is back baby and it was in full effect at Mall San Pedro on Halloween.
Our Newly Remodeled Master Bedroom
We took on another project and to be honest, it was one of the best decisions we made in this remodel thus far. It was affordable and fast and everything we needed right now.
We recently built a brand new master bathroom and to go with that, we were set to move into our new bedroom that was attached. The problem was that said bedroom was pretty small and really needed some updating to match our new bathroom.
If we were going to make the room work, it needed a facelift stat. The remodel is just a temporary solution to a problem but it fixed the issues we were having with the room. We knocked down the wall separating the room from our old master bathroom, something we planned to do anyway in our future remodel and took out the old closets.
These small changes, along with some white paint, really elevated the space and gave us the much needed space we were looking for. One big bonus that we're obsessed with is the mew window we gained that not only lets in light but fresh air as well.
