We Outside

Yes, we be outside all day everyday. It's almost unbelievable now to remember a time not that long ago when everyone had to stay indoors.  And now, three years later, we're all out and about, living lives to the fullest and enjoying every moment.

We had quite a few outings this month starting with my girlfriend group coffee-date meet-up. This meet-up serves as a time for us to get together,  a few times a year, to catch up and just spend some quality time with each other. It was an opportunity to celebrate the birthdays in our friend group that were upcoming or had recently passed.

Then the day after my meet-up,  hubby and I attended the wedding and Bridal expo, Exponovia. I love doing anything related to our upcoming vow renewal so this was a treat for me. Even though our event is pretty much already planned, it was fun to see all that Costa Rica had to offer in the wedding world.

And then it was time to check out a new food spot in one of our favorite gastronomic neighborhoods, Barrio Escalante. I call it the restaurant Disneyland because there are so many amazing places all in one area, a feast for the stomach and a treat for the eyes. Our local of choice was actually an upscale food court type location, with seven different restaurants,  called Calle 33. Our pick was Burger Brothers but we also went back the next day with the family and tried three other spots.  All were amazing.

The next two outings on our agenda was a breakfast date at a quaint little restaurant near the San Pedro Mall, where my waffle was literally the size of my head. And Novoa sushi, again in Barrio Escalante, where the food was just incredible.  Hey, you only live once so eat, pray and love.

New Ventures In Family Fun

There's a new place in town and it's awesome. Comic City is a super hero and fantasy genre themed restaurant that just opened it's doors less than a year ago in Costa Rica. The decor is pretty cool and the menu is varied.  The portions are massive and colorful and the staff is super friendly.

After a quick trip to Lincoln Plaza to check out their Mario Day celebration,  we headed over to Comic City to check out what they had to offer. Warning, you might want to keep going back to try all the things but take caution as the prices are pretty elevated. It's all in good fun though, so for us once was enough to get the experience of an evening.

Celebrating A Graduation Milestone

Congrats to the graduate, my son, who just completed the first major milestone in his young adult life.

My son wasn't a very studious kid. In middle school,  he lacked discipline and made many academic mistakes. In highschool, he got held back and came close to failing many times.  It was a struggle so, for obvious reasons, he wasn't the biggest fan of school. And needless to say, he questioned why he should even further his studies by attending university.

However,  college was a non negotiable for me. I wanted him to go further,  to reach beyond to achieve his dreams.  Fortunately,  after attending a workshop at Veritas University,  he fell in love and his excitement to attend college grew.

Now here we are, just over two years later and he has completed the first stage of achieving his career goals of working in the digital animation industry. This is just the first step for him in life, as he has so much more to accomplish and I could not be more proud.
