It's been a great start, so far, to the new school year and now that we're in March, we have so much to look forward to.
Starting off with my son's graduation from Veritas University Technical School of Digital Animation. It was a monumentos occasion for him as well as for us as parents, as this is his first official step into the world and society as a whole as an adult ready to contribute to the working world as a titled and educated individual.
The morning started rough as he actually forgot the date of the graduation ceremony. He burst into my room at 8:30 Saturday morning on the 4th to let me know he had messed up.
My son is just a litttle on the lackadaisical side and so didn't think to check in with his school to make sure of certain important information regarding the commencement ceremony.
Needless to say, we showed up late and he wasn't able to walk across the stage. He did receive his diploma, however, and was even able to don his cap and gown for photos.
Although the day was saved and the event was a success, a hard lesson was learned. My son learned to not be too dependent on others and will be more proactive in life from now on. His responsibilities are his own and almost missing his graduation was a wake up call. Lucky for him, he will have another chance to walk in his graduation second ceremony in 2025.
