It's that time of year again for senior activities in Costa Rica. As the year approaches its halfway mark, graduating students prep for exams and start the college search process. They also get rewarded with traditional senior activities like the yearly Convivencia team building retreat.
This retreat is typical in many Costa Rican schools for all students about to either graduate middle and high school and students who are also advancing from 9th grade to 10th.
The Convivencia is a fun social field trip, usually at a finca or park with large open areas, a pool, and a few recreational spots scattered about for the kids' enjoyment.
There are a variety of team building games and exercises, sports activities, and a motivational speaker on hand to give the kids encouragement as they transition from one stage of their academic career to the next.
It's an entire day full of fun and, of course, good food and a good time is always the end result. There are other traditional activities to look forward to for these students, including the graduation dance and, of course, the graduation itself. But we look forward to one activity at a time, enjoying each step to the fullest.
