It's Good To Have Friends

I remember a time where I found myself so desperate for friendship,  I was picking up strangers in the grocery store. I would try to befriend anyone who looked or talked like me.

As a newcomer to a country where I didn't speak the language, I felt alone and isolated. I wanted friends so badly that I was willing to accept just about anyone.

My friends came eventually and I am so thankful for them. We had one main thing in common, we are all moms. And from that commonality, we were able to form a bond that has lasted these 13 years.

I love our get togethers, now fewer and farther apart than before but so refreshing and fun when they do happen.  It just reminds me how important friendships can be.

Meet Luna

While there will never be a replacement for our beloved Sheba, we are happy to welcome our newest family member to the fold, miss Luna. Our 2 month old American Staffordshire.

Isn't she lovely

Did You Catch The Solar Eclipse?

Did you see the solar eclipse? Because we sure did. And it was amazing.  And it just so happened the same day as my son's second boxing sparring match, a match he won by the wat. Coincidence? I think not.

A solar or lunar eclipse is not a very common event, as you know,  which makes it simply incredible to behold.  To see the wonders of the world and our universe combine into a "once in a few lifetimes" event never ceases to amaze me. It truly is a sight and being able to capture it's glory and beauty is nothing short of amazing,  like witnessing a true to life miracle.

This boxing match was a turning point for my son as he gained confidence and started to believe in himself and his skills.

The solar eclipse event, another marvel of our universe, to remind us there are bigger and greater things out there.

Enjoying Life As Best I Can

I love my life.  It might not be perfect but it is a life that is being well lived. A soft life,  a luxury life, a good life in my mind and I truly cannot complain.

As a semi busy mom of 4, I could not be living a better life than I am right now. This was the life I dreamed about. This was the life I've always wanted.  And I can only hope it just keeps getting better.

As a life being lived to the fullest, take a look at what I've been up to over the past few weeks.

I decorated the house for Fall and Halloween

I started wearing my ring stack more because why have something so gorgeous sitting in a box

Went on a brunch date with hubby. Had me a mimosa and a good ole time.

This french toast was so amazing, it was an absolute treat.

Got some new nails and tried something a little different.  I am obsessed.

And I just had to take a picture of this outfit. I was definitely feeling myself but can you blame me? Living life to the fullest indeed.

An Emotional English Fest

Another year, another English Fest and this one had me in my feels. Every year in October,  the kid's school puts on a massive production for parents, friends and classmates.

The English Festival is a culmination of months of hard work. It's an event that showcases the talent of every student while also allowing kids to express themselves in a creative way. It's like a theater production, that includes acting and musical musings.

The props are always insanely impressive,  the talent top notch and the show is always entertaining.  This year, my daughter's class knocked it out the park again with another amazing theatrical production.  Their ethereal theme included a story of inequality between two different "racial" groups, the earth and water people.

When I tell you I had tears. The acting was on another level. Their talent is unmatched but that's not to say the other levels didn't also do a phenomenal job. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and look forward to the English Fest every year. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

My support for my daughter's theme, with a bit of nature in my hair while also supporting my son's pirate theme with my choice of outfit.

The Decor was impressive

The fight scene, a dance number, was incredible.

My son's Pirate theme had him dressed as the anime Pirate Luffy.

My daughter as an ethereal earth person.

Our official welcome to the English Fest.

The Lilo and Stitch theme from the 7th graders

My daughter's theme, water vs earth.

      The mighty Luffy

It was an event to remember for sure and one for the books.

It's Halloween

Oooooh, it's spooky season and we all know what that means. Celebrating Halloween is a fairly new concept in Costa Rica that has taken off over the years. It gets bigger and more impressive every year and that gives me so much joy.

There were a plethora of Halloween related activities to choose from as well as a ton of Halloween sales, offers and discounts. I took advantage of a spa pack that included discounted facial and massage. And as for the activity, we stuck with our favorite Halloween spooktacular event trick or treating at Mall San Pedro.

Goodbye Sheba

We finally had to come to the realization that our most beloved pet, Queen Sheba, had reached the end of her lifespan. It was time to say our goodbyes and help her out of her misery. September was an amazing month and there were few dark moments and this was one of them.

Fly high Sheba. You will forever be missed. Gone but never forgotten.

Welcome October

Let's get this shit popping. I am so ready for cozy nights, fall vibes, holiday content, and Halloween shenanigans.  Let's gooooooo!!

September Was Lit 🔥

September is my favorite month, for OBVIOUS reasons. First off,  it's my birth month, so yay for that. Second, it's one step closer to the holiday season and vacation. Can I get an amen! And third, September is just a top tier time of year.

Plus I'm a September Libra. Need I say more? By astrological standards, I am the embodiment of an almost perfect specimen. 🥰

Ok, all jokes aside though, September is by far my favorite time of year and so to pay tribute to my favorite month, here is a rundown of everything that transpired over the last few weeks (that I haven't posted about yet).

Getting more confident each day and documenting my journey
