Boston Bound

I had to take a quick two week trip to the states to bring my daughter to college in Boston and it's almost time for me to leave.

While this wasn't a vacation,  it was definitely nice seeing family again. The shopping g has been nice as well.

The decision to allow my daughter to attend college in the states was a difficult one.  We'd been preparing for this occasion for a while but still felt ill prepared when the time came.

Once she received the official acceptance letter, we had less than a week to buy the plane tickets,  pack and plan a goodbye party for her and her closest friends. It felt super rushed but I don't know if we could have done it any other way.

It's been an interesting two weeks in Boston for sure. First I got sick right out the gate then Boston got slammed with a massive winter storm. But my daughter still was enjoying her new home. A quick shopping trip to Sephora was a highlight.

Her first couple of days of school also proved successful and I have every confidence she'll adjust quickly to her new surroundings. Even though my first week had me down with the flu and trying to recuperate, I tried to enjoy the little time I had left with her.

Now that I'm feeling better, it's time for me to pack and prep for home. And I have to say, even with all the good food and great shopping,  I am very ready to head back home. This winter weather has me rethinking life and I just cannot support this cold.

I'll miss my daughter terribly but wish her all the best, with our creator's blessings blanketing her in safety. This will be our new normal and life will be different with her not home but we'll find every opportunity to have her in our presence.  And I cannot wait for her to find her way on this new journey. Success is just around the corner.

My daughter's going away party, hastefully planned in the midst of our trip. It was a hugely successful party and everyone had a blast.

Next up was our flight to Boston with a 9 hour layover in Newark.

With the long layover at the airport, we decided to take a quick trip into the city for some pizza and vibes.

Next morning, we were back on the plane headed to Boston. The one hour flight was practically empty and very peaceful.
