Christmas Is Calling

To start, the girls and I had to celebrate our friend's birthday with a very festive coffee date

However,  November is the official start to the holiday season in Costa Rica and I have to say, it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas

There are so many Christmas themed events that are happening,  it would have been criminal to not partake in at least one. Our favorite,  the Christmas Inauguration parade at the Multiplaza del Este in Curridabat.

The organizers for this specific holiday activity know how to throw an event. They did not miss a beat. There was so much going on and so much to see, it made for a wonderful afternoon.

And everyone came out and showed out, in a good way. There were families there of course but also Santa and Mrs. Clause, ballerinas, Company Mascots, entertainment and a marching band.

But even amongst all the holly and jolly of the season, hubby and I still find the time for each othet. Date night anyone?

In My Hosting Era (Again)

I knew I'd be hosting Thanksgiving this year,  so when my daughter came to me about hosting a Halloween party, I was initially against it.

Back in the day, I was THE hosting queen, but life has come full circle and my hosting days have kind of disappeared.  The kids got older and I got tired.  But the idea of getting back into my hosting bag was too enticing to pass up, so I ultimately decided to throw the party.

The idea started off as a party, but in the end, it turned into a Halloween get together and I was just fine with that. Starting to host again, I wanted to just dip my feet in instead of jumping head first. And the shindig turned out perfectly.  It was a great night filled with karaoke, fun games and fun food. And because it was a smaller, more intimate affair, I never once felt overwhelmed.

Welcome November

With the beginning of the new month, November is literally the start of the Christmas season.  But before we dive right into the holiday, lets recap Halloween.

October was a time.  Lots of activities and events to attend, including so many birthday celebrations.  It was a month of fun and shenanigans and I loved all the opportunities to dress up and head outside.

Starting with the day party event at Bacano restaurant that literally was just a nice outing at a nice restaurant with a live DJ. No "party" in sight but a fun time was had none the less.

My day party outfit was definitely a vibe and I loved the entire look.

The aesthetics of the restaurant was everything, it was giving pinterest vibes. This was the entrance to the bathroom.

Again, the restaurant vibes were so on point.
The drinks were fire and the food was incredible.  Hubby was so obsessed with his drink, he talked about it for days. So, naturally we had to run it back and do another visit to Bacanos.
I cannot get over the aesthetics
We kept it simple on our second visit with drinks and a few appetizers.  The fries were amazing and were the star of this visit for me. But my drink was just as good and the empanadas were a bit on the crispy side but still delicious.
Then there was Halloween.  There were so many activities and events to choose from but we decided on just two. We stuck to our tradition of trick or treating at the mall, which is always a tried and true Halloween activity.

And we also made a quick run to Krispy Kreme for the free donuts and a dozen glazed on sale and to the Hyatt Hotel for free popcorn and a ridiculous amount of candy.

My Halloween costume of choice this year was Wednesday Addams. Luckily for me, I had all the necessary clothing pieces on hand, even down to my natural hair being straightened so I could do Wednesday's signature pigtail braids.

My daughter as Cat woman and how fitting that she ran into Batman.
Mall San Pedro was giving all the Halloween vibes and it was another successful year of trick or treating.
My youngest as a terrifying zombie
And the buckets loaded with all the loot.

We certainly had a Happy Halloween 🎃
