Boobie had to take his make-up exam for computers today... since he 'failed' computers, he got another chance at the end of the year to re-do the exam.. I think he had to get 75 or higher in order to pass the year. I think it's cool that schools do this here in Costa Rica.
In his last school, he had failed 2nd grade Spanish and Social Studies and Math, I think. Yeah, a very bad year! But he got 2 chances to re-do each test so as not to have to repeat the whole year. Lucky for him, he passed all exams on his second try and was able to move on to the third grade.
Today, he passed computers with flying colors...he got an easy 100. So why, if computers was so easy, did he fail the class to begin with?
Here's the deal. Supposedly, him failing had to do with a few factors; he played too much in class, talked a lot and never did the work. Oh, and he kept losing points in class because he never had his USB key (llave maya). Ok, Boobie told me near the beginning of the year that he lost his key. So I quickly came up with the bright idea for him to borrow Hubby's until the school year was out. I was angry with Boobie for losing the key in the first place (those things are not cheap), but more angry because he waited so long to tell us.
Anyway, fast forward to the end of the school year and Boobie comes home one day and informs me that he found his key. How? His teacher had it, on her desk. Yeah. The same teacher that kept writing him up for never having his key. The same teacher that said he was losing points off his grade for not bringing in his key. The same one who complained because he never had his key (get the picture).
She had his damn key the whole time. Honestly and come on...you find a USB key in your room after your students have left class and you never thought to ask them whose key it was?????? And you've had it for months, doing what with it??????
Thank you CECR for the wonderful experience you've given my child. So long and good riddance.
